Have you looked at your credit report lately? This is a reminder that it may be time to check your credit report.
Reviewing your credit report regularly allows you to keep an eye on the accuracy of the credit reporting. It's important to check in and make sure that your best and truest information is out there.
There are 3 credit reporting agencies, Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. Each one will allow you to run a free credit report once per year. I recommend rotating among the 3 so that every 4 months you are checking in on your credit details. When did you last run yours?
Annual Credit Report.com - Home Page is a legitimate site where you can run your credit reports.
If anything looks suspicious on your credit report, follow up with the correct party. My book, MoneyMarci's Guide to Financial Literacy, includes a chapter on making corrections to errors in your credit report. It is up to you to make sure your credit report is correct.
If you don't understand something on your credit report I would be happy to help improve your understanding. Post your question as a comment here, send me an email at Marci@MoneyMarci.com, or use the form on the Comments page to send me questions and comments anonymously.
