It's that time of year. We are eating leftover turkey and pie while recovering from the gatherings that are a part of Thanksgiving. It's a great time to take stock of our progress and appreciate how far we have come. Remember to be thankful.
It's easy to recognize other people's achievements, they post them all over social media. It's much more difficult to recognize our own achievements because we are so aware of our challenges. Look back to where you were 6 months ago, or look at a year ago. Take stock of your progress and growth. Look at the lessons you have learned. You are working toward your goals.
Sometimes the biggest challenge is defining your goal. Sometimes it is figuring out the steps you need to reach your goal. Sometimes it is taking the first step towards you goal. Whichever part of the process you are currently on, be proud that you are in it.
It's important to be aware of your progress and to appreciate the steps you have taken to reach them. Some goals take longer. Some goals are more difficult. Don't judge yourself by anyone else's journey, own your life and appreciate how far you have come.
I am thankful for my progress in sharing financial literacy.
