The best time... - 04/29/2022

Updated: Jul 29, 2022

The best time to start saving is yesterday. The second best time is today.

That goes for anything. Since time travel doesn't exist yet, at least that I'm aware of, any change you want to make is best implemented today. Whether it is starting a new job, a new habit, healthier eating, better money management, or any other project, the best time to start is now.

Today is a great day to be the first day of new financial habits. No matter what your situation is, chances are there is room for improvement. Here are some options that might fit you:

1) Put spare change in a jar. All change that you find, whether it is a nickel in the couch or a penny on the ground, goes into the jar. Use this as the beginning of your savings if you need to. Deposit it into the bank periodically, even if it is only a few dollars.

2) Reconcile your bank account, especially if you never have before. Take the time to review where you are spending your money

3) Prepare a budget. If you don't know how, there is a series of 3 videos available on the MoneyMarci website that explain how to prepare a budget. Worksheets are available for download in the Links & Worksheets tabs.

4) List your goals, both short term and long term. Try to determine what you need financially to achieve those goals.

Think how much better off you will be in a year for having started a good financial habit today!
